The Boys are Back!

Hey there from the West coast, and welcome to the new blog! I hope to keep this spot regularly updated with fresh photos of the projects Im working on for school and pleasure, and hope to get my old work archived on here as well. Stay tuned...
Last weekend KT and I hit up Oxnard to catch the Cowboys at Training Camp. Our first visit left me wondering how to get better access; see those guys standing on the sidelines with the huge lenses? That's where I should be shooting from.
We were limited to the bleachers outside the practice field behind a 10' chain link fence, then once on the field itself there was 10' worth of sideline to cram into to get a spot on the chest high security fence.

Dat Nguyen - early AM coaching for the linebackers. He's a skinny guy now.

Bobby Carpenter running pursuit drills with the linebackers. He looks a lot different without a helmet.

You should know who this one is... new number this season, but same 'ol Roy. From what Ive seen it looks like old school Roy, who remembers how to lay the helmet.

Marion Barber has made his way to the top of the depth chart, though some would say he's been there for a year already. It's nice to see a back hit the gap as hard as this guy runs, and we heard him lay someone out on a blocking back situation - it was LOUD. This was shot at a morning workout so they are in shells = shorts, pads, and helmets.

Everyone and their cousin decided training camp would be the coolest at 8am, I guess you just cant keep people away from the Boys for any reason, even just practice! We chatted with Police on the sidelines about the gang members in the crowd who have adopted Cowboys colors as their own, allowing them to blend in with others a little easier. Can you pick any out?

Romo and backup Johnson tossing passes around during a water break. Johnson ran ok with the second teams and looked pretty decent, but Romo is the obvious starter for good reason.

Matt Mcbriar kicking one away during special teams practice - it was fun to get back into the work-flow of a practice again, hearing them call out the names of the drills they were heading to. It all came flooding back.

After the second string performance of Brad Johnson against the Chargers last weekend, this guy Rich Bartel could be a few steps closer to dressing on Sundays.

Hamming it up with the press.

The linemen all seemed to have new babies and the other guys were going nuts for them. Check out the tiny tiara on his little girls head!

This one pretty much speaks for itself right? Huge dudes playing with tiny babies... other huge smelly dudes walking up and playing with babies. Softies, all of 'em.

Just an idea of the gauntlet these guys run every single day.

Head Coach Wade Phillips making the fans happy kissing babies and signing fan wear, which they were hocking by the semi load just outside the gates. I admit to purchasing a new visor and some plain practice T's but the quality wasn't worth dropping the $$ for something like a jersey. We will snag those somewhere in Dallas, maybe a cool throwback or something...

I can't understand the autograph craze... something else to hang on your wall with tape?

Fan favorite for sure - who couldn't love that winning smile? This one's for you Becky! :)

Patrick Crayton doing the autograph thing.

Jason Witten has his own shirt out this season - its an image of him running the ball after the Eagles ripped his helmet off and he ran over two more guys before rumbling 53 yards down the field. People are calling this guy a legend, I think he's a really great TE and can't wait to watch his contribution to this seasons squad.

I think this is new receiver Danny Amendola, but I shot this because they were catching balls after practice was over, getting in some extra drills which impressed me given their track record for dropped passes... one person missing was the playmaker. Im excited to see what the new crop of talent brings this season! Go Cowboys!
